Battered, Bruised and Beaten: the art of SFX

This was my first ever attempt at special effects makeup during my time at Delamar. It was a module I was really looking forward to and it didn’t disappoint.

This image of my trusted model, my sister Katie, was a look I created using Kryolan grease paints with brushes and stipple sponges. Greasepaint is preferable for creating black eyes as it is safer than alcohol-activated products like Bluebird pallettes, Reel colour and Illustrator pallettes. The fumes of alcohol can sting the eyes and make them water which is not good when making someone up, (And not much fun for them either!)
